Dr. Bethany Sallee
Veterinarian
Dr. Beth Sallee grew up in Lexington, KY, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of KY, and is an Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine Graduate. Following a preceptorship in Charlotte, NC, she started her career at Cherokee Hospital for Animals in Johnson City. After managing and expanding that practice for 30 years, she sold her business and transitioned to Fort Henry. Dr. Sallee is very excited to provide “Quality Care with a Gentle Touch” that defines the personalized service received at our Clinic.
During her 35-year veterinary career, Dr. Beth Sallee received training in ultrasound and echocardiology to aid in advanced diagnostic techniques. She has an interest in internal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, and dermatology, and performs routine surgeries. She uses her years of experience and training to help provide top-level diagnostics, therapies, and treatments to our clientele, eliminating the need to travel to a different facility or town in many instances.
Dr. Beth Sallee and her husband enjoy an active lifestyle including boating, camping, snow skiing, and scuba diving. She loves riding, jumping, and competing in dressage competitions with her horse and pampering her pets, and she always looks forward to sharing her caring attitude with all our clients and their fur babies.
Dr. Rachael Carpenter
Veterinarian
Dr. Rachael Carpenter attended Carson-Newman College and The University of Tennessee Knoxville where she completed her Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Animal Science. In 2012, Dr. Carpenter earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Carpenter’s enthusiasm and love for veterinary medicine arose at an early age. Her father is a veterinarian, and she has been an intricate part of his practice throughout her life. As a child, she cared for the animals, followed her Dad around the clinic, “helped” him with surgery, and would even wake up during the night to see emergencies and go on large animal calls. The motivation to become a veterinarian was evident; improving the quality of life for both animals and their owners through medicine provided the greatest payoff of personal satisfaction she could ever receive. This realization has motivated and inspired her to strive for excellence and to pursue this fulfilling career.
Dr. Carpenter is married to Dave, a Wildlife Sergeant for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Together, they have three precious children, Charleigh (9), Ava Claire (7) and Luke (4). She is also a pet parent to a Miniature Australian Shepherd, Pearl, and a Miniature Schnauzer, Violet, and several chickens. The Carpenter family loves spending time together, exploring the outdoors and spending time on the farm. Dr. Carpenter enjoys taking care of her plants and baking for those she loves. They are active members of First Baptist Church of Blountville and dearly love their church family.
Dr. Carpenter finds great fulfillment in helping people make positive and informed choices regarding the health of their pet. It is her priority to always give her best to her clients and their furry family members.
